Yellowstone Spinoff Coming March 2026

Y: Marshals, the Kayce Dutton spinoff, gets a premiere date at CBS. Announced in March, the latest chapter in the Yellowstone franchise takes Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton away from the Yellowstone ranch and puts the spotlight on his military life, surrounding John Dutton’s son with a new group of characters.

The spinoff picks up after the events of Yellowstone season 5. It is one of several spinoffs in the works, with fan-favorite couple Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) also getting their own spinoff for Paramount+.

Variety reveals that Y: Marshals will premiere on CBS on Sunday, March 1st at 8 PM ET. The night begins with 60 Minutes at 7 PM ET. It’ll then be followed by the series premiere of Y: Marshals. The hit third season of Tracker shifts to 9 PM while Watson season 2 ends the night at 10 PM ET.

Kayce’s solo series sees Grimes’ character putting the Yellowstone Ranch behind him to join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. He combines his skills as a cowboy and his past to bring range justice to Montana, having to balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with his job.

The main cast for the spinoff has been confirmed, with Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade, Spider-Man: Homecoming) playing Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce’s time in the military. It’s likewise been reported that Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, and Mo Brings Plenty will reprise their Yellowstone characters.

Merrill plays Tate Dutton, Kayce’s son, with Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty as Thomas Rainwater and Mo, respectively. They’ll be joined in the cast by The Vampire Diaries alum Arielle Kebbel, Ransom Canyon‘s Tatanka Means, Mayor of Kingstown‘s Ash Santos, and Narcos actor Brett Cullen.

Spencer Hudnut, who previously worked on the CBS and Paramount+ drama SEAL Team, will also serve as showrunner of Y: Marshals. The new show may remind viewers of the long-running David Boreanaz series, which dealt with similar themes. But the spinoff carries Yellowstone ties off-screen. Franchise creator Taylor Sheridan is among the executive producers, as are David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Grimes, and Hudnut.
