Toni Collette Stars In Netflix’s Chilling New Horror Series Wayward

Netflix released the official trailer for Toni Collette’s brand-new horror series. Toni is an acclaimed actress who received an Oscar nomination for The Sixth Sense and a Golden Globe nomination for Muriel’s Wedding. On the small screen, she won an Emmy for her role on United States of Tara and was nominated for Unbelievable, which is available on Netflix.

Speaking of the popular streaming service, Collette can next be seen in Wayward on Netflix. A teaser trailer was released in July for the Mae Martin-created horror series. Aside from being the creator and one of the writers, Martin also stars as police officer Alex Dempsey, who comes across two students wanting to escape their creepy school for “troubled teens.”

Alex begins digging into the secrets of the mysterious school and sets his eyes on Collette’s character, Evelyn.

Collette stars as a mysterious school leader in the upcoming series Wayward. The just-released trailer gives fans a first look at her creepy new show. Evelyn introduces Tall Pines Academy via a video that plays on a TV, which is intercut with shots that tease the horror elements of Wayward.

This introduction by the school leader makes it seem like the students will be well taken care of and have the chance to thrive. Evelyn reveals that the academy utilizes groundbreaking therapeutic techniques. However, it quickly becomes clear that there is more under the surface at Tall Pines.

That’s when Martin’s character Alex enters the picture as a police officer who moves to the small town and starts an investigation. He discovers that Evelyn is very involved in what goes on at the school and is determined to figure out the truth.
