These Streaming BTS Documentaries Will Hold You Over Until Their 2026 Return
With BTS back after completing their mandatory military service, new music is on the horizon. The seven-member boy band hasn’t had a complete comeback since 2022’s Proof. For their next venture, they’ve traveled to Los Angeles to soak themselves in the ocean air and the connections they’ve made over the years with well-known producers and creatives.
The only confirmed date fans have been given for when to expect new music is Spring 2026. This gives the group enough time to put their all into creating something they love, while also giving fans enough time to prepare for what’s to come. With just about six months of waiting to endure,fans will find themselves checking the calendar every day wondering how to make time move faster.
Burn The Stage: The Movie (2018)
The first BTS documentary film released was Burn the Stage: The Movie. Fans often discuss this particular film online, mentioning certain scenes or quotes that broke their hearts at the time and continue to leave a lasting impact on their identity as an ARMY. It’s uncomfortable to watch your favorite artists suffer, but this makes it easier to see them as human.
Filmed in 2017, Burn the Stage offers behind-the-scenes footage of their WINGS Tour. The film shows their steadily rising success and international fame just before reaching the point of no return, showing a young BTS on the cusp of moments and performances that would change their career’s trajectory for good.
Bring the Soul: The Movie was the second documentary film for the group, also released in 2018. Here, the members reflect on their Love Yourself World Tour from earlier in the year, sharing their favorite moments and memories with each other and with the fans watching. Their banter matches the tone of the film, remaining playful and open.
Every great tour documentary includes performances, and this one is no different. Scenes of the members reminiscing are broken up and connected by performance clips, tying everything together from start to finish with footage from the tour as they discuss specific moments and songs that stood out to them.
BTS’ first docu-series bore the same name as the last film and was released a year later. Bring The Soul: Docu-Series offers the first close-up look at each individual member. Rather than focusing on the group’s shared thoughts and feelings, this series encourages Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook to share their own personal stories.
They are candid about their hopes and dreams for the group as well as their concerns as they push forward into global superstardom, making this a must-watch for every ARMY wanting to know them better. As for the millions of seasoned ARMYs, this series provides a sense of nostalgia that’ll only make your connection to the group even stronger.
The pandemic years hit professional musicians, their crews, and their fans in a unique way. When your job is to perform for crowds of tens of thousands of people, what do you do when everyone’s forced to stay inside?
BTS kept their fans occupied and entertained by releasing music and Break The Silence: The Movie PERSONA, released in cinemas in 2020. The members spend time in this film reflecting on the memories from the tours covered in the series, offering their thoughts on the good, the bad, and everything in between.
Fans were able to see new sides to the members in this film, separating their confident stage personas from their more vulnerable off-stage personalities. It’s a memorable look at BTS as people rather than BTS as idols.
The first BTS member to embark on a solo venture during the group’s hiatus was J-Hope. Naturally, this meant that he was also the first to drop a solo documentary. J-Hope In The Box brought fans into the making of his debut solo album, Jack In The Box,which was a major musical departure from what fans were used to.
The film also shows the making of his iconic Lollapalooza set and all the behind-the-scenes effort that went into what became one of the highlights of his career. It’s the first of a handful of solo documentaries that kept ARMY occupied during what would prove to be a fairly content-filled hiatus.

SUGA: Road To D-DAY (2023)
Another one of BTS’ three incredible rappers, Suga, was next to drop a solo album and an accompanying documentary film. SUGA: Road To D-Day has a similar premise to J-Hope In The Box, where both follow their respective artists through the creation of their latest project while also giving fans exclusive commentary they might not receive elsewhere.
Suga is an incredibly talented producer, lyricist, and artist, sothis film offered his incredibly honest thoughts on each song as well as clips of him working with his team to get every track as close to his mental vision as possible. It’s also interspersed with stripped-back performances that showcase his underrated vocal talents and stage presence.

Jimin’s Production Diary (2023)
2023 was a busy year for BTS members and their fans. While the members were busy dropping some of the most impressive solo K-Pop albums in the game, ARMY were busy struggling to consume every piece of new content that was handed to them.
Jimin’s Production Diary is a raw documentary film that shows each and every step of the process behind Jimin’s debut solo album that went on to hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It walks viewers through his inspirations and frustrations right up to the release date in Spring 2023, giving them an exclusive look at just how different each member’s creative processes are.
In 2023, despite being on hiatus and having members begin their enlistment process, BTS celebrated their 10th anniversary in many different ways. BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star is an eight-episode docu-series that brought fans through the group’s decade-long career that is still a work in progress.
Through exclusive footage and interviews with each member, viewers get a closer look at everything from their debut preparations to their monumental speech at the United Nations in their most detailed film yet. It’s a perfect starting point for new fans, while also being an excellent series for lifelong ARMY to return to time and time again before their return.

Jung Kook: I Am Still (2024)
The promotion of Jungkook’s debut solo album was unfortunately cut short due to his enlistment, but he still showed enough of his potential as a soloist to make many fans excited about his return.Jung Kook: I Am Still is an honest depiction of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into this incredible debut.
Viewers follow BTS’ youngest member through South Korea, Los Angeles, and New York City as he receives the tracks on his album, records them in the studio, and performs them for the first time around the world. If you saw it in theaters, maybe you were lucky enough to snag a Jungkook popcorn tin.

Are You Sure?! (2024)
The latest BTS-centered documentary release is Are You Sure?!, a hilariously candid travel series that follows Jungkook and Jimin across different vacation destinations. It’s the two of them and their Jeep against the world as they battle stomach bugs, endless appetites, and water guns, making this an entertaining watch for any fan.
As far as BTS content goes, this is one of the most fun to watch simply because of how well the pair bounces off of each other. Half of the time, they’re cracking up over something the viewer doesn’t even know, but it makes you laugh nonetheless, feeling like you’re along for the ride as well.
