The Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel now has an official title. Released in 2023, Universal’s record-breaking movie was a mash hit at the box office, having grossed over $1 billion in total. It popularized video game adaptations and led to a sequel, set to come to theaters on April 3, 2026.
Now, Nintendo has revealed the official title of the upcoming sequel, teasing which video game it’ll adapt. The movie is titled Super Mario Galaxy Movie, taking its inspiration from Nintendo’s video game of the same name released in 2007. The teaser trailer during Nintendo Direct showed Mario sleeping under a tree. Princess Peach’s castle can be seen in the distance. Watch it below:
