We’ve been working on Season 5 for months now. So, we were working on Season 4 and Season 5 and doing press for Season 3 all at the same time.

Due to the importance of making money in the entertainment industry, the studios in charge can often be risk-adverse. While that makes sense from a business point of view, it would be great if more shows could be produced in the same way that Strange New Worlds has been.
In this show’s case, the producers clearly have a story in mind that they want to tell. Instead of having studios get in the way, Strange New Worlds’ showrunners have been allowed to work consistently on bringing that story to life.
If other showrunners were given that opportunity, after they proved themselves worthy of trust, TV shows would almost certainly be better. Fans wouldn’t have to wait so long between seasons that some of them stop caring. More importantly, the teams behind shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds would be more likely to maintain their passion for their stories.
