One returning Taylor Sheridan actor has an exciting new role following 1923. Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone franchise is the flagship of his television resume, with 1923 season 2’s ending being the most recent addition, concluding the prequel series and leaving many great stars looking for new gigs. Luckily, Sheridan loves to bring back actors.

Taylor Sheridan fans are in luck, as the next few months will see multiple shows returning. While there’s nothing in the Yellowstone franchise coming until 2026, audiences can enjoy new seasons of multiple shows. Tulsa King season 3 has already begun, Mayor of Kingstown is back in October, and Landman season 2 arrives in November.

Tulsa King Season 3 Gives Robert Patrick Another Great Taylor Sheridan Series After 1923’s Ending

Robert Patrick is a veteran actor whom most audiences will recognize from his iconic role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day​​​​​, as well as more recent projects like HBO’s Peacemaker. The 66-year-old actor played a prominent role in 1923 as Sheriff William McDowell, the main representative of law enforcement in the harsh Montana valley where the show takes place.

Robert Patrick is returning to the world of Taylor Sheridan/Paramount+ shows for Tulsa King season 3, where he’ll be joining actors like Sylvester Stallone, Garrett Hedlund, Frank Grillo, and the exciting addition of Samuel L. Jackson. Patrick will play a prominent role in the new season, which began airing this week.

While Taylor Sheridan isn’t very involved in Tulsa King, he’s still credited as creator and producer, and is a huge part of the show’s success. Sheridan has established Paramount+ as a competitive streaming service with shows in the crime, Western, and action thriller genres, and it’s no wonder that so many of the same stars appear across the various titles.

Robert Patrick’s Tulsa King Role Is The Opposite Of His 1923 Character

The Dutton Family can find themselves on either side of the law, but in 1923, Sheriff McDowell genuinely aligns with the ranch family as enemies like Banner Creighton and Donald Whitfield threaten peace in the region. While he didn’t always see eye to eye with Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton, he generally worked in favor of the protagonists.

Robert Patrick’s character in Tulsa King, Jeremiah Dunmire, will be a much bigger threat. Patrick is channeling his villain energy from Peacemaker to become Dwight Manfredi’s primary antagonist in the new season. With tempers flaring in season 2 between Manfredi, Cal Thresher, and Bil Bevilaqua, adding another alpha to the mix can only stand to make things worse.
