Peacemaker Season 2 Dominates HBO Max Streaming Charts With 99% Rotten Tomatoes Score
Season 2 of a show with 99% on Rotten Tomatoes has taken the top spot on HBO Max‘s streaming charts. In the late 1990s and in the 2000s, many of HBO’s all-time best series were released, and cemented the brand’s legacy with the likes of The Sopranos, Oz, and The Wire.
In the 2010s, HBO further strengthened its reputation for delivering critically acclaimed series, and proved it could do so in the fantasy and science-fiction genres. The television landscape, not only in fantasy, was forever changed by Game of Thrones and how it became a popular culture phenomenon. HBO also made its mark on science fiction with the acclaimed first season of Westworld.
In the 2020s, HBO has continued to deliver prestige television in similar genres, including their adaptation of the post-apocalyptic video game The Last of Us, which received numerous Emmy Award nominations for both seasons 1 and 2. Peacemaker Is At The Top Of HBO Max’s Streaming Charts

Following the release of season 2, episode 3, Peacemakeris in the number one spot on HBO Max’s streaming charts. Peacemaker season 2 reviews have been stellar, with the new season of the DC show earning a near-perfect 99% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes following a 93% score for season 1.
Peacemaker season 2, episode 3, “Another Rick Up My Sleeve”, began with a shocking reveal when Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman) appeared in the show. This was followed by more surprising reveals as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker (John Cena) further explores an alternate dimension where everything in his life is seemingly better.
Along with season 2’s critical success, Peacemaker is currently the most-watched show on HBO Max’s streaming charts. It is outperforming And Just Like That…., which dominated the charts for much of the summer, along with all other shows on the streaming platform.

Between Peacemaker season 1 and coming off the momentum of Superman‘s theatrical release, it is not too surprising that the show is dominating streaming for HBO Max. While it may not be surprising, it is promising to see the series continuing to be a hit with both critics and general audiences.
These achievements indicate that James Gunn’s DC Universe has a bright future ahead of it, with tonally different stories, including Superman and Peacemaker, both resonating with audiences. With the series already a hit on streaming, it will likely continue to perform well throughout the remaining episodes, and season 3 seems inevitable.
