Only Murders In The Building Season 5 Soars Up Streaming Charts
The hit comedy Only Murders in the Building surged up the Top 10 streaming charts amid its return to Hulu. Across its first four seasons, the series, which stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, has been nominated for 49 Emmys and currently has a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Hulu series tells the story of Charles, Oliver and Mabel as they uncover shocking secrets while investigating murders in their apartment building. Only Murders in the Building season 5 just premiered with its first three episodes on Tuesday, September 9, and will release one new episode every week until the finale on October 28.
One day after its fifth season premiere, Only Murders in the Building has skyrocketed up the streaming charts and is currently at No. 4 on the Disney+ chart.
The shows in the Top 3 are Alien: Earth, which is a couple of weeks away from airing its finale on FX and FX On Hulu; ABC crime drama High Potential; and Hulu true crime drama The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.
Rounding out the Top 10 below Only Murders in the Building are Twelve, Superstore, Grey’s Anatomy, Bluey, Modern Family and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+.
The Top 10 movies on Disney+, as of September 10, are Lilo & Stitch, Thunderbolts*, The Incredibles, Incredibles 2, Ice Age, The Amateur, Snow White, Freaky Friday, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch and Hercules.
What Only Murders In The Building’s Streaming Success Means

Only Murders in the Building season 5 is already off to a great start, both in terms of the overwhelmingly positive reviews and its streaming success.
With the show currently in the fourth spot in the Disney+ Top 10, it has the potential to continue climbing and possibly overtake The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, which has already released five episodes, and High Potential, which has yet to premiere its second season.
Alien: Earth, which currently holds the top spot on the chart, is closing in on its September 23 finale, so there’s a strong chance the Noah Hawley-created sci-fi show will continue dominating all other shows.
Our Take On Only Murders In The Building Skyrocketing Up Top 10 Charts
Only Murders in the Building is one of Hulu’s most prominent original shows, so it’s not surprising that the comedy has continued to see such great success. Sometimes, shows lose their luster the longer they’re on the air, but this one just keeps getting better and better.
So far, its Rotten Tomato score is higher than season 4, so strong word of mouth could keep the show on everyone’s radar and garner an even bigger fan base in the coming weeks.
