Only Murders In The Building Season 5 Guest Star & Cameo Guide
Only Murders in the Building season 5 is packed with celebrity guest stars and cameos. The Emmy-winning mystery comedy has become one of the biggest TV shows in recent years, with each season boasting a stacked cast of A-listers, from Meryl Streep to Eugene Levy to Paul Rudd.
Only Murders in the Building season 5’s return came with three initial episodes, and the show will run through the end of October. As usual, the new season comes with several fresh recurring characters, many of whom are played by Oscar-winners and recognizable stars. This season might be the most-stacked yet.
Bobby Cannavale
Bobby Cannavale makes his first appearance in Only Murders in the Building season 5 as mafia boss Nicky Caccimelio. However, Nicky Caccimelio was first mentioned in season 4’s finale when his wife, Sofia Caccimelio, arrived at the Arconia requesting the Only Murders trio’s help in keeping watch on him.
Bobby Cannavale can be recognized from a variety of films and TV shows. He’s a veteran actor known for titles like The Irishman, Boardwalk Empire, and, more recently, Nine Perfect Strangers and The Watcher.
Christoph Waltz
Christoph Waltz is one of the two new Oscar-winners to join the Only Murders cast. The Austrian star is best known for his iconic roles in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and the subsequent Django Unchained.
Waltz’s exceptional appearances in Tarantino films have made him a coveted actor in Hollywood, making it all the more exciting to see him in a comedic series. Waltz will be playing tech billionaire Sebastian “Bash” Steed.
Renée Zellweger
Renée Zellweger is the other Oscar-winner joining the Only Murders cast for season 5. Her performance in 2019’s Judy won her the award, but she’s been starring in popular films for years, including the Bridget Jones’s Diary franchise and the Best Picture-winning musical, Chicago.
Zellweger’s resume in great comedy, drama, and musical films makes her the perfect fit for Only Murders, and she’ll be playing a character named Camila White, a billionaire who owns half of New York’s hotels. Her character appears for the first time in season 5, episode 3.
Logan Lerman
Logan Lerman doesn’t have any Academy Awards, but his roles in films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Percy Jackson make him equally exciting as a new cast member. Lerman is beloved for those movies, and he’ll be a notable attraction for Only Murders’ season 5 cast.
Logan Lerman’s Only Murders character is Jay Pflug, a young billionaire who’s the heir of a pharmaceutical magnate. He first appears alongside Waltz and Zellweger in episode 3. Their arrival is used as a cliffhanger for the opening episodes’ ending.
Beanie Feldstein
Lady Bird and Booksmart actress Beanie Feldstein plays Althea, a new character from Mabel’s past who moves into the Arconia at the start of season 5. We first see her in a flashback alongside Mabel and Tim Kono before she’s fully integrated into the series in episode 3.
Keegan-Michael Key
Keegan-Michael Key is one of Only Murders in the Building’s most exciting cast additions, as one of the funniest comedic actors of the 21st century. He’s known for co-creating and co-starring in Key & Peele, and plays Mayor Tillman in Only Murders season 5. He first appears in the season premiere, attending Lester’s funeral.
Dianne Wiest
Dianne Wiest also makes her Only Murders in the Building debut in season 5’s premiere, starring as Lester’s wife, Lorraine. The actress can be recognized from iconic films like Footloose and The Birdcage, and will be bringing her comedic chops to the table for season 5.
Téa Leoni
Téa Leoni’s recurring season 5 role, Sofia Caccimelio, was already set up by season 4’s ending. The Jurassic Park III and Bad Boys actress appeared to request the help of the Only Murders trio in finding her husband, Nicky Caccimelio, who has disappeared at the start of season 5.
Sofia Caccimelio quickly becomes a prevalent character in season 5, whom Charles describes as a femme fatale. Her troubled relationship with Nicky is likely at the center of the season’s mystery.
