Netflix’s Must-Watch Sitcom Is Leaving On September 26
One of the best sitcoms of all time is leaving Netflix soon, and it’s a must-watch before it moves to its new home. Most streaming platforms offer a wide variety of movies and TV shows from different genres, and even now, with all the competition it has, Netflix continues to be one of the most popular streaming platforms.
Every week, Netflix adds new titles – both licensed and original – to its catalog, but, at the same time, others have to leave. For a long time, Netflix was home to a masterpiece sitcom that has no bad episodes, and those who haven’t watched it yet need to hurry up, as it’s leaving the platform in a couple of days.
The masterpiece sitcom leaving Netflix at the end of September is none other than The Good Place. Created by Michael Schur, The Good Place premiered on NBC in 2016 and ended in 2020 after four amazing seasons. The Good Place introduces the audience to Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), who, unfortunately, is dead.
Eleanor wakes up in the afterlife, where she’s welcomed by afterlife architect Michael (Ted Danson) into the Good Place, the show’s equivalent of heaven. Everything in the Good Place is designed to be perfect and to give its residents peaceful, perfect, fun lives, and they even have assigned soulmates to make it better.
However, Eleanor knows she doesn’t deserve to be in the Good Place as she wasn’t a good person when she was alive, and this is confirmed when she learns she has been mistaken for another Eleanor Shellstrop. With the help of her assigned soulmate, Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Eleanor tries to become a better person, deserving of being in the Good Place.
Of course, and as much as Chidi does his best to teach her about morality, ethics, and philosophy, it’s not an easy task for Eleanor. The Good Place has been praised for its creativity, concept, comedy, performances, themes (especially those linked to philosophy), and its plot twists, with season 1 having one of the best of all time.
Even though The Good Place is all about death and the concept of the afterlife, the show perfectly balances comedy with topics like death, grief, and loss, and it’s a surprisingly funny and deep take on death and what comes after it.
The Good Place Is Leaving Netflix On September 26
Those who haven’t watched The Good Place yet and have a Netflix subscription have a couple more days to watch the show from beginning to end. As announced by Netflix, The Good Place is one of many TV shows leaving the platform in September, more specifically on September 26. Luckily, The Good Place already has a confirmed new home once it leaves Netflix.
The Good Place will move to Prime Video on September 26, so those who can’t finish the show after it leaves Netflix can continue watching it now on Prime Video. The Good Place is a must-watch thanks to its tone, themes, and performances, and it’s a perfect show with no bad episodes.
