Matthew McConaughey & Cole Hauser Reunite In New Series From True Detective Creator
Matthew McConaughey has an exciting project in the works, offering a reunion for a classic 32-year-old movie. Matthew McConaughey’s best movies include box office hits like Interstellar and Magic Mike, as well as Oscar darlings like Dallas Buyers Club and The Wolf of Wall Street. The story of the 55-year-old actor’s career extends far beyond those.
One of McConaughey’s most recognizable roles was in 2014’s first season of True Detective. His performance as irregular detective Rustin Cohle has been celebrated as one of the greatest characters in TV history, and is one of the primary reasons why movie actors have begun shifting to TV over the past decade.
Matthew McConaughey & Cole Hauser Co-Star In True Detective Creator’s New Show
Matthew McConaughey is currently working on a new TV series with True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto. While the show doesn’t have a confirmed title, it’s been picked up for distribution by Netflix and is going to have a plot centered around brothers. With Cole Hauser joining the show’s cast, he’ll likely be that brother.
The prospect of two veteran actors teaming up to co-star in a series is always exciting, especially when a writer like Nic Pizzolatto is involved. He hasn’t had anything as successful as True Detective season 1, but he’s still evidently one of the best writers in Hollywood, and he knows how to write for McConaughey.
These two actors might get to enjoy some of the best dialogue and most complex characters they’ve ever had to work with, and I have high hopes this series could finally live up to True Detective.
Matthew McConaughey & Cole Hauser Starred Together In Dazed & Confused In 1993
Matthew McConaughey broke into the film industry with a supporting role in the 1993 teen movie classic, Dazed and Confused. This is the film where he delivers his classic line, “Alright, alright, alright,” cementing him in film history as one of the most electric, entertaining stars to ever grace our screens.
Veteran actor Cole Hauser, who’s most recently been lauded for his role in the Paramount Network show, Yellowstone, also starred as a teenage character in Dazed & Confused. He and McConaughey barely share the screen, but it sparked a lifelong friendship, making their upcoming reunion all the more exciting.
If you love either of these actors, Dazed and Confused is a must-watch movie. In fact, it’s one of the rare movies I’d recommend to pretty much anyone, and it still remains one of Matthew McConaughey’s best roles.
