Madonna Returns To Warner Records for New Dance Album In 2026
No matter how big you get and how much you’ve seen, it’s never too late to go home, back to where it all started. That seems to be Madonna‘s reasoning, as it’s been reported that she’s returning to Warner Records, the label where she became a household name.
She’s dropping a new dance album under the label as well, expected in 2026, which will be a sequel to her Confessions on a Dance Floor LP, released in 2005.
Madonna’s last album was 2019’s Madame X, so her fans are thrilled about the new album, not only because it’ll be her first in seven years, but because she’s working with Stuart Price, who produced the bulk of Confessions on a Dance Floor.
That overall fan excitement was evident late last year when Madonna shared the news about Price on Instagram.
Madonna’s Message About Price
Madonna and Price can be seen working together in the studio in that Instagram post, and the singer can be seen penning lyrics, dancing, and laying down vocals.
Her boyfriend, Akeem Morris, is also in the studio, lending support and rubbing her shoulders. Madonna’s twin daughters Estere and Stella can be seen in the clip as well and so can her manager, Guy Oseary.
“This is FANTASTIC NEWS!!!” Craving for new music from you like crazy!!” wrote one of Madonna’s 20 million Instagram followers. “So happy to read this!! We’re ready for you Queen!!!”
“Yeaass mama. Can’t wait,” a second person commented. “This will be epic I’m sure.”
Heading Back To Warner
Madonna’s 1982 eponymous LP, her debut, which includes classics like “Lucky Star,” “Borderline,” and “Holiday,” was released on Sire Records, one of Warner Records’ subsidiaries.
Her last album with Warner was Hard Candy, released in 2008, and from there she partnered with Live Nation, an agreement that included a three-album deal with Interscope.
That deal ended in 2020, which cleared the runway for Madonna to fly back to Warner Records, an announcement that she made not too long afterward. “Madonna isn’t just an artist, she’s the blueprint, the rule-breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut,” said the label’s co-chairmen, Aaron Bay-Schuck and Tom Corson in a statement, per Rolling Stone.
“For decades, she has not only defined the sound of global pop music but also reshaped culture itself with her vision, innovation, and fearless artistry,” they also wrote in part. “The signing represents a historic, full-circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began.”
The Pop Icon’s Statement
Madonna shared a statement as well and expressed excitement about joining the label again, saying, “Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”
As of now, there’s no release date for the follow-up to Confessions on a Dance Floor, but updates from the pop icon are probably forthcoming.
