Kevin Costner’s Explosive Alleged Yellowstone Detailed In New Report

A new report details the explosive incident that Kevin Costner allegedly had with his Yellowstone co-stars. The hit Western drama is moving after Costner’s exit and the death of John Dutton, with two key spinoffs focused on Beth, Rip, and Kayce.

Most of the reporting around Costner’s acrimonious departure from Yellowstone focused on his clashes with franchise creator Taylor Sheridan over scheduling and script changes. But a new feature in The Hollywood Reporter details a tense on-set incident with co-star Wes Bentley, which left Kelly Reilly in tears. Read the excerpt below:

Btween takes, tensions boiled over. Costner, both star and executive producer, was pushing Bentley to ditch Taylor Sheridan’s script and play the moment his way. Bentley refused. He told Costner that he had signed up for a Taylor Sheridan show, not a Kevin Costner production.“Kevin didn’t like that, and he lunged at him,” says a source who was present. “No fists were thrown, but they were in each other’s faces, pushing and shoving and just getting hot until they had to be separated.” Reilly, according to one witness, was in tears. Production briefly shut down.

A representative for Costner declined to comment. However, a rep for Bentley confirmed the incident and called it a “ calling it a “work related argument during an emotional and physically tough scene,” which was “discussed and resolved.” The feature goes on to note that Sheridan and Costner began to “butt heads” from that point.
