The fashion and costume designer Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91. Known as Italy’s fashion king, Armani also worked in the world of cinema, famously designing costumes for American Gigolo, Elysium, and The Dark Knight.
He founded the luxury fashion house and company Armani, which now also has stakes in music, sport, and hotels. Per Deadline, there had been concerns about Amarni’s health following his absence from Milan Fashion Week in June, and he died on Thursday after a short illness.
