Franklin & Bash Surpasses Suits As Netflix’s Top Legal Show
A new legal show has become a hit on Netflix, only days after it first became available on the streaming service. The new hit show is Netflix’s most popular legal series right now, currently surpassing even Suits. The beloved Suit‘s cast and storylines previously allowed it to surge on the streaming service.
Suits originally aired on the USA Network between 2011 and 2019. After the drama was added to Netflix in mid-2023, Suits broke a viewing record after being the streaming service’s most-watched TV show for 12 consecutive weeks by October of that year.
Netflix also is the home of several other legal shows, depending on your region, including The Lincoln Lawyer, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Anatomy of a Scandal, and The Diplomat. There are also many Netflix documentaries about legal fights, including Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal, Amanda Knox, and Depp v. Heard, among others.
Franklin & Bash Becomes Netflix’s Top Legal Show
As of September 5, 2025, Franklin & Bash has entered Netflix’s chart of its Top 10 most-watched shows in America. That has allowed Franklin & Bash to be part of the same chart that includes several smash hit shows. Netflix’s other top shows on that date include Wednesday, My Life with the Walter Boys, Two Graves, Orphan Black, and Hostage.
Franklin & Bash was added to Netflix in America only days earlier, on September 1, 2025. The fact that the show managed to chart that quickly is very impressive. It should also be noted that the legal comedy drama series cracking Netflix’s top 10 chart could become even more significant.
What This Means For Franklin & Bash
Suits is now regarded as one of the most successful legal shows of the last several decades. While the show aired for nine seasons, it wasn’t always as popular as it is now. Instead, Suits’ popularity surged after it attained monster viewing numbers on Netflix.
Given how huge Suits was on Netflix, nobody should expect Franklin & Bash to reach the same numbers. Still, the news that the wildly underseen show, which starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer, cracked Netflix’s TV chart is truly fantastic.
The show that focused on a pair of lawyers with hearts who fought hard for their clients, many of whom they had to chase to get, is hilarious and heartwarming. As a result, Rotten Tomatoes users have given Franklin & Bash an impressive 84% Popcornmeter grade.
I couldn’t be happier to see Meyer and Gosselaar’s show getting its well-deserved moment in the sun more than a decade after it finished airing. I also hope that Franklin & Bash continues to appear on Netflix’s TV chart that Suits once dominated.
