Earth Episode 6 Hints at Wendy Becoming Xenomorph Queen
Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Alien: Earth season 1, episode 6.Alien: Earth just teased one character as being a “Xenomorph Queen” in a surprising reference to the Dark Horse Alien comics. While most people are familiar with the Alien movies, the franchise has also expanded into multimedia efforts. There are books, video games, crossovers, and a long-running series of comics that have varying levels of importance to the franchise.
While Alien: Earth has mostly drawn from the original Alien, it also has some similarities to the Alien comics. The biggest reference to the comics, however, just got introduced in Alien: Earth episode 6, and it could completely redefine Wendy and the entire cast of Alien: Earth‘s stories.
Alien: Earth Episode 6 Confirms That Wendy Has A Special Connection With The Xenomorph
We already knew that Wendy had a special connection to Xenomorphs. She can, after all, both hear and speak the Xenomorph language, and she could even feel pain from Kirsh’s initial experiments on a facehugger. Alien: Earth episode 6, however, confirmed that Wendy has a much deeper tie to the Xenomorphs than we previously thought.
Wendy doesn’t just understand and speak the Xenomorph language, she actively empathizes with them. She told Hermit as much in episode 6, and she defended them and the rest of Alien: Earth‘s alien lifeforms. Wendy said that the Xenomorphs didn’t ask to be sent to Earth, and that she even believes the Xenomorph specimen she interacted with when it was a chestburster could turn out to be good.
Later on in the episode, Wendy even sided with the Xenomorphs over humanity. She told Dame Sylvia that she didn’t want to be “people” anymore because people kill things for no good reason. Wendy is clearly deeply affected by the way Prodigy is treating Xenomorphs and the way Hermit thinks of them, which makes her very similar to another Alien synthetic.
Wendy’s Story Is Very Similar To Eloise’s From The Dark Horse Comics
The way Wendy interacts with Xenomorphs and empathizes with them makes her eerily reminiscent of another character from Alien‘s history: Eloise. Eloise was the product of an experiment to combine a synthetic with DNA from a Xenomorph queen in the Dark Horse Alien comics. She turned out to be a resounding success, though not in the way her creator intended.
Eloise, thanks to her Xenomorph DNA, could communicate with and control Xenomorphs. She could basically form a telepathic link to Xenomorphs at all stages of their lifecycle, and her Queen DNA made them subservient to her. Eloise also had an extreme emotional connection to Xenomorphs, even going as far as to say that she loved her brood.
It’s immediately apparent how similar Wendy and Eloise are. Both are advanced, experimental synthetics who have been hybridized with another species (humans for Wendy and Xenomorphs for Eloise). They also both have an almost unheard of connection to Xenomorphs and are able to exert at least some control over them. They also both deeply empathize with Xenomorphs over humanity.
Even the way Eloise and Wendy talk about Xenomorphs is familiar. Eloise, while defending the Xenomorphs, said that they simply follow their instincts, and that it’s not their fault that they’re apex predators. Similarly, Wendy said that humans are killers too when Hermit tried to convince her that Xenomorphs are predators.
What Wendy’s Bond With The Xenomorph Means For Alien: Earth’s Final Episodes
The similarities Wendy has with Eloise may even impact the rest of her story as Alien: Earth season 1 nears its end. Eloise was basically a queen for the Xenomorphs she controlled, and Earth may be setting Wendy up to take on a similar role. She’s the only one who knows how to speak the Xenomorph language, after all, and she may even learn how to control them soon.
After episode 6 and Arthur Sylvia being impregnated by a facehugger, it’s clear that a Xenomorph is going to be running loose on Neverland Island soon. Boy Kavalier and Prodigy are probably going to have to kill the escaped Xenomorph to retake control of the island, and Wendy may get in their way. She has a lot of empathy for the Xenomorphs, and she may decide to side with them over humans.
Alternatively, Wendy could also be the only thing capable of stopping the Xenomorphs from destroying the entire planet. Even though Neverland is an island, once a Xenomorph outbreak happens, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the Xenomorphs could reach the rest of Earth.
Wendy Becoming The “Queen” Of The Xenomorphs Only Makes Sense After Episode 6
Wendy becoming a “queen” of the Xenomorphs like Eloise was makes a lot of sense, especially after Alien: Earth episode 6. The entire show has been questioning whether the hybrids are truly human or not, and Wendy may have already picked her side. So much of episode 6 was dedicated to showing how Wendy feels more kinship with Xenomorphs than either humans or synths, after all.
So much of the past few episodes of Alien: Earth have also been dedicated to showing the power Wendy has over Xenomorphs. Her ability to control and communicate with them is unlike anything we’ve ever seen in live-action. Even Ripley 8 didn’t have this level of control over Xenomorphs in Alien Resurrection. It really seems like Earth is building Wendy up as a Xenomorph leader.

Wendy ultimately becoming a queen to the Xenomorphs also fits with Alien: Earth‘s episode titles. The finale of Earth season 1 is titled “The Real Monsters,” and it seems like the humans could be the monsters that title refers to. Wendy already views them as monsters for how they treat Xenomorphs, so it only makes sense for her to side with them in Alien: Earth.
