DJ Khaled Addresses Drake And Rick Ross Feud, Stays Neutral

When Drake began feuding with a long list of artists last year, like Kendrick Lamar, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, and Rick Ross, there was a running joke on social media that DJ Khaled would suffer the most. Mainly, because some of Khaled’s albums consist of Drake collaborating with the same rappers that he’s squabbling with.

Drake and Ross’ issues have also affected the Florida-based producer because he’s friends with both of them. However, it seems that Khaled’s friendship with Drake is the only one that suffered, as it seems the OVO rapper has backed away from him since early 2024, both on social media and in song form.

Khaled has been quiet about the Drake and Ross beef, probably because he didn’t want to take sides, which could obviously ruin his relationship with either rapper beyond repair.

But that changed in a recent interview, because Khaled broke his silence on Drake and Ross during a stop at the podcast, Joe & Jada.

How Drake And Ross’ Feud Began

Drake and Ross used to be frequent collaborators, but that stopped after Ross’ ex, Tia Kemp, claimed that the Miami rapper often talked smack about Drake behind his back. Ross then posted a video of himself listening to “Like That,” the song released by Future and Metro Boomin last year, which features Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar took a shot at Drake and J. Cole on the cut, which started his epic beef with Drizzy that’s still unresolved. Ross and Drake haven’t settled things between themselves either, and both released diss songs aimed at each other—Drake first dropping “Push Ups,” and Ross quickly firing back with “Champagne Moments.”

What Khaled Had To Say About Drake And Ross’ Beef

Khaled made the point that he’s always stayed neutral when his friends have argued with other rappers, using Fat Joe and 50 Cent’s beef as an example, since Joe and Khaled are longtime chums. So, he did the same with Drake and Ross, because he still considers the Iceman rapper one of his friends.

“I love Drake, I love Ross, I love Future,” Khaled explained. “I didn’t get in that energy. There’s two energies I’m not gonna get in: hate [is one of them] … You can’t question my friendship. How? It’s impossible.”

“A lot of this s–t is a misunderstanding and a lot of not [communicating], and that’s what it be about,” he continued. “When it comes down to DJ Khaled, I’m gonna be the one that tries to fix it. I love my brothers, and my brothers know that. I would love to squash it.”

Of course, whether Ross and Drake will settle things remains to be determined. The same goes for whether Drizzy will work with Khaled again, because last year, after Khaled said he would be on his forthcoming album Aalam of God, Drake quickly shut that down by writing on social media, “must be Drake Bel.”
