Cross Season 2’s Confirmed Release Date Eases The Wait For Reacher S4
It will be a while before Reacher season 4 comes out, but even before that, fans of the Alan Ritchson series can celebrate an update for another Prime Video crime series.
As reports have confirmed, Reacher season 4 is all set to adapt Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, which is often touted as one of the best books in the Jack Reacher series. This alone makes it hard not to look forward to the hit Prime Video action thriller’s next installment.
While filming Reacher season 4, Alan Ritchson, too, has been dropping several exciting updates about its action scenes, raising even more anticipation for its release. However, since Reacher season 4 is not releasing on Prime Video anytime, viewers would be glad that the streaming service has dropped a new update for another show.
Cross Season 2’s February 2026 Release Gives Reacher Fans The Perfect Watch Before Season 4
Prime Video has yet to confirm an official release date for Reacher season 4. Even the Neagley spin-off show, which is scheduled to be released before Reacher season 4, does not have a confirmed release date yet. Owing to this, it is hard not to believe that Reacher‘s fourth installment will not come out before Summer 2026.
Fortunately, Prime Video has announced that Cross season 2 will be released on February 11, 2026. The show’s confirmed release date promises that it will be out before Reacher season 4 and potentially ease the wait for the Alan Ritchson series’ return. Reacher season 4 might seem a little too far, but Cross‘ return can certainly fill the void.

Cross Season 2 Still Has A Big Challenge To Match Reacher On Prime Video
Cross season 2’s announcement comes in the wake of two major cancellations on Prime Video. While Cross has managed to get renewed and land a confirmed release date, Butterfly and Countdown have been canceled after their opening seasons. This establishes that Prime Video is being very strategic with its dad shows instead of moving forward with every other addition to the action thriller genre.
However, despite being one of the few action thrillers that have managed to return, Cross is far from being Prime Video’s best dad show offering. Unlike Reacher‘s three seasons, its first installment received a more mixed response from viewers and critics. While it still landed an overall score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a long way to go before it matches Reacher‘s nearly unanimous acclaim.
Considering how well-written and compelling its source material is and how brilliantly Aldis Hodge captures Alex Cross on the small screen, Prime Video‘s Cross undoubtedly has the potential to be as good (if not better) as Reacher. Hopefully, Cross‘ next season will fix season 1’s shortcomings and establish it as a worthy Reacher replacement.
