Chris Pratt Has A Condition For Jurassic World 5 Return
Chris Pratt is not closing the door on a return to the Jurassic World franchise. However, he explains how any future appearance his character might make has to be under the right conditions.
In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Pratt revealed that he would be more than happy to join Scarlett Johansson for Jurassic World 5. However, he added that he would only return to the franchise under one condition. The actor said that the script would have to honor all the stories that came before it.
Pratt, who starred as Owen Grady in the Jurassic World films, further elaborated that the decision would come down to storytelling above anything else. He explained that while he loved his character, the team behind the movie, and Johansson, if the story wasn’t appealing enough to do the dinosaur franchise justice, then he wouldn’t be interested in returning.
The Jurassic franchise is currently in a transitional period after Jurassic World: Dominion, which was meant to be a culmination of both the original Jurassic Park saga and the newer movies. While Universal has been clear about keeping the dinosaur brand alive, the studio has also expressed an interest in evolving the series rather than simply repeating what they did in the past. These changes may include new leads and timelines.
Johansson is rumored to be a central figure in the next era of the franchise. Her potential involvement would mark a significant shift, putting a new character at the forefront while still leaving room for legacy characters to appear in supporting or crossover roles.
From a purely commercial perspective, a film starring both Pratt and Johansson would likely be a massive box office win. Both actors are proven iconic stars who have been featured in several major franchises with huge fanbases that they could draw to the theaters, especially those who might not have been interested in Jurassic World.
At the time of this article’s publication, Jurassic World 5 remains shrouded in mystery. While there will be more films to come, no official casting information or plot details have been confirmed by Universal. However, Pratt’s comments leave the door open for him to return in some capacity later on, maybe even sooner than expected.
