Bryan Cranston Wins His 7th Emmy For Guest Actor In The Studio

Bryan Cranston has won his fifth acting Emmy Award, 11 years after his last win. This is Cranston’s seventh Emmy after the actor previously won four Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophies for portraying Breaking Bad’s Walter White. Cranston won two more Emmys when the show was named the Outstanding Drama Series for his involvement in the fifth and final season.

During his time as a member of Malcolm in the Middle’s cast, Cranston was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2002, 2003, and 2006. Cranston was also nominated another six times, including for his roles in the TV movie All the Way and his guest appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

During the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys ceremony, Cranston nabbed the trophy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his turn in The Studio. Cranston appeared in three episodes of The Studio as Griffin Mill, an eccentric studio head who perfectly fits the show.

The fact that Bryan Cranston is now a seven-time Emmy Award winner is obviously a major accomplishment for the actor. However, Cranston’s latest Emmy win is even more impressive considering the actor’s competition. While the other 2025 nominees for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series aren’t all known for acting, it is an incredibly star-studded and unique list.

Alongside Jon Bernthal, who was nominated for portraying The Bear’s Michael Berzatto, Cranston’s other fellow nominees were all in the running due to The Studio. Dave Franco, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, and Martin Scorsese were all nominated for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series after portraying fictional versions of themselves on The Studio.

It is also worth noting that Cranston beating Bernthal is even more noteworthy given that actor’s history in the category. Bernthal won the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy Award in 2024 and was nominated in 2023, both due to how amazing the actor is in his The Bear role.
