Nicki Minaj And Cardi B’s Feud Escalates: Children Dragged Into Beef

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B picked up their years-long beef this week. Everything exploded after Nicki was critical of Cardi’s album Am I the Drama selling 200,000 equivalent album units in the first week, believing it was due to its promotional price of $4.99.

The Pinkprint artist also insulted Cardi’s music, her looks, and her new boyfriend, NFL player Stefon Diggs, who she’s having a child with. Cardi hit back by accusing Nicki of drug use, while bringing up her husband Kenneth Petty, who’s a registered sex offender, as well as her brother Jelani Maraj, who was convicted of sexual assault and child endangerment in 2017.

The New York rappers also insulted each other’s children and continued to do so in another social media argument that took place yesterday, September 29, which sparks concerns on social media about rap beef going too far.

The Rappers’ Insults

Minaj called Cardi’s daughter Kulture “ugly” in the vicious exchange and denied Cardi’s claim that drug use led to infertility. “Going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs,” wrote The Bronx rhymer.

Then after Nicki threatened to sue her for the infertility claim, Cardi wrote, “Girl it’s YOUR SON BIRTHDAY why are you on twitter dedicating essays to me??? For the love of god go to chuckie cheese.”

Cardi wasn’t done there, though, because she accused Nicki’s son, only known as Papa Bear, of being mentally underdeveloped because of drug use.

“Papa Bear I’m sorry you can’t speak and banging spoons because your mom couldn’t put the drugs down,” Cardi tweeted. “I’m sorry your mom not even paying attention to you on your own birthday cuz she such a obsessed and dark spirted hating h-. I’m so sorry.”

The Rules Of Rap Beef

Many in hip-hop believe there are no boundaries when it comes to rap beef and insulting one’s child, parent, or other close family member is fair game. However, others believe the opposite, which they stated on social media after this latest round of beef.

The same sentiments were relayed last year when Nicki’s feud with Megan Thee Stallion began, and she mentioned the Houston rapper’s deceased mother in her diss song “Big Foot.” Megan’s mother, Holly Thomas, died of a brain tumor in 2019.

Please let us know in the comments or on social media if you agree with those who say there are no boundaries in rap beef, or whether you believe that people should adhere to certain rules.
