Young Thug Criticizes Drake’s Request Amid Personal Tragedy

Young Thug has been surrounded by controversy ever since he was accused of snitching on Peewee Roscoe last month, one of the members of his YSL crew.
The fallout began after footage leaked of the rapper speaking to detectives during an interrogation. There’s also been leaked audio footage of Thug’s jailhouse phone calls where he’s heard disparaging other artists, Drake included.
The Atlanta rapper, who spent over two years in custody in Georgia’s Fulton County Jail on RICO charges, spoke about Drake wanting a track from producer Metro Boomin in the call.
What Thug Had To Say About Drake
Thug didn’t like that the OVO artist was trying to secure the beat shortly after Metro’s mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, was shot and killed by her husband in a murder-suicide in 2022.
Drake needed the sample cleared for a future release, and Metro was slow to do it, presumably due to the tragedy. So, Drake asked Thug to help him contact the famed beat-maker, despite Thug still being in jail.
“Drake so stupid, he probably just sent some stupid condolences,” said Thug on the call. “You’re using the fact that you Drake as a weapon now. Then you come right back, two three weeks later, like ‘Yo, let me get this song.'”
He continued. “[I’m] just not feeling that right now. You should’ve got on your big ol’ plane and went to where a n—- was when a n—-mama died if you really, really, really mess with a n—-.”
Thug’s Leaked Phone Calls
Thug was also heard calling GloRilla ugly in another leaked call, which he apologized for last week.
As for Drake, he hasn’t responded to Thug yet, but it’ll be interesting to see if their relationship is permanently damaged since they’ve collaborated several times over the years.
Metro is just one of the people who feuded with Drake in 2024, along with Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and others. The producer released the Drake diss song “BBL Drizzy,” which the Canadian rhymer repurposed on Sexyy Red’s “U My Everything.”
