28-Year-Old Show Hits #1 on Streaming Charts

This 28-year-old classic dark comedy series is currently #1 on the Paramount+ global streaming chart nearly three decades after its premiere episode back in 1997.

Although this comedy series has stirred up plenty of controversy over the years, it remains virtually untouchable in the modern streaming era despite its raunchy and provocative approach to humor.

This series is currently gaining more viewership than other giant Paramount+ series like Tulsa King, Yellowstone, and Dexter. Now, in the middle of its 27th season, and three more seasons already on the way, this Paramount+ series continues to cement itself as one of the most legendary TV shows of all time.

South Park Is The #1 Most-Viewed Show On Paramount+ Right Now

South Park has long been known for its biting social commentary and satirical comedy, especially aimed at public figures and current events. It’s largely due to the timeless nature of this series that South Park is able to still be wildly popular, so much so that it’s topping Paramount+’s global streaming charts, 28 years after its debut.

It’s not all that surprising that South Park’s dedicated fan base keeps coming back for more, even though some might say that the series has been lacking in quality over the past few seasons. What is surprising, however, is that South Park is the most popular series on Paramount+ during a week that is not even scheduled to release a new episode.

Taylor Sheridan currently has 3 shows on Paramount+’s top TV streaming charts, one of which – Tulsa King season 3 – is currently releasing new episodes. It appears that the recent headlines that South Park has made, and its various responses, including those from the White House, have only made the long-running comedy series even more popular.

South Park Season 27 Is Its Most Controversial Yet

Only five episodes of South Park season 27 have been released at the start of October, with the next episode set to be released on October 15, 2025. The first two episodes of this new season alone will go down in South Park history as some of the most controversial episodes in series history.

South Park’s streaming popularity on Paramount+ should continue throughout the rest of 2025, leading up to its season finale on December 10, 2025. New and returning series, such as Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown season 4, should challenge South Park for its number one spot. However, due to the relevant subject matter in South Park’s latest season, it has solidified itself as must-watch TV and has the massive viewership to prove it.
